St. X vs. Trinity For Kentucky Bragging Rights

St. Xavier will face-off with Trinity Saturday night at Papa John's Stadium to decide Kentucky's Class 6-A championship.

These two aren't strangers to title games...St. X has won six titles under head coach Mike Glaser, while Bob Beatty has led Trinity to five titles in his seven years at the head of the program.

These two met back on September 28th with St. X winning 24-15. If you're a Trinity fan that's a good thing. Under Beatty, Trinity is 10-0 when playing a team a second time in a season. Two of those wins have come at the hands of St. X in Kentucky title games.

Currently St. Xavier is ranked #15 in the USA Today Super 25.

Nationally Ranked St. Xavier (OH) Tops #1 Trinity

If there's one way to name a top team in the country, you MAY be able to do it based on schedule. If that's the case, St. Xavier (Cincinnati) has a great argument for being Numero Uno!!

Last night, the Bombers (4-0) erased an 11 point third quarter deficit on it's way to defeating Trinity High, the #1 6A team in Kentucky, 47-31. St. X has now beaten the top teams in Kentucky, one of the top teams in Ohio in Glenville and finally DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD), which was ranked #5 in the nation by USA Today in its pre-season poll.

Quite a three week run!! St. X is currently ranked #4 by USA Today and #1 by PrepNation.com.

To read about the comeback, please click on our headline "Nationally Ranked St. Xavier (OH) Tops #1 Trinity".
